Neurosurgical knowledge and technical possibilities of surgical treatment of neurological and orthopedical disorders have expanded enormously in recent years. Reduction of access routes, the use of microscope and endoscope, new implants that allow movement conservation in spine have reduced risks and improved the chances of success significantly. But only by knowing and mastering the various conservative and minimally invasive surgical techniques, one can work on an individual treatment for their patient according to the German motto: "As little as possible - as much as necessary."
